Water Conservation Tips to Celebrate World Water Day!

Today is World Water Day!  Water plays such an important role in our lives.  It is necessary for health and wellness and it's an important part of our ecosystems.  In an effort to live more sustainably, here are a few simple water conservation tips you can use at home.

Water Conservation Tips:

  • Use a Low-Flow Showerhead - You can save up o 15 gallons of water during a 10-minute shower just be upgrading your shower head to one that uses water more efficiently.
  • Wash Full Loads - 22% of indoor home water use comes from doing the laundry.  Save water by only washing full loads and making sure that the settings are properly adjusted.
  • Upgrade to Energy Star - Energy star appliances are more water efficient.  Dishwashers use about 4 gallons of water per load, while standards use about 6.
  • Fix Leaks - Homes lose about 10 gallons of water per day due to leaks.  If you notice a leaking faucet, don't delay fixing it!
